Rezvan's Book

In order: possible cover, possible cover, statement, new statement, first page
I will chose one of the two covers (not sure which one yet).

Please note:
Defenition of fetish from dictionary:
2. Something (nonsexual) which is believed to possess, contain, or cause magical powers
3. An irrational, or abnormal fixation or preoccupation

I created the covers based on this definition. I am trying to give my viewer a psychological predisposition to what is going on inside the book by showing them the three words interacting on the cover. The first page also represents a feel for the rest of the photographs and where they are coming from.

Some of the text is going to be hard to read (on purpose). The book is still going to be horizontal and long, unless Lulu people reject making it. That's the reason I haven't resized them yet; I wanna see where I end up with the book size first. They are most likely to have same length, different heights on a colored background (not sure yet)

I am not digging the first sentence of first statement. I am to represent sounds odd to me. See if you can revise that. I was taught (and often do not practice as I should) that you need a really powerful first sentence to get the reader interested. This image used as the background for the second statement is beautiful. I never thought I picture taken through dirty glass could look nice. One of the words disappears into a light. Be careful of that. I think I prefer the new statement. Do you want the text to blend in to almost unnoticeable?
Both your cover pages are the different sizes. They should be the same size as the rest of your book. You're doing good!! I like where you're going.

Hi Jessica, I explained why the sizes are different on the main page, I am not changing the size because I am waiting to see what happens with the book size
and YES for your question, some of the text I am using for my book are hard to read, they blend in

I enjoy the idea of playing with words and images. The only thing I might change is using the word "limited" in your artist statement, I don't know, it just seems like there might be a better word ...since you book is about words, right? Or is it about images? Anyways ... I love the images. Great job.

The concept is very interesting, but I would like to see more examples before I really critique it.

I vote for the second image for the cover. It looks HOT! Great design!

I am strongly turned off by the faux handwriting font. Why do you feel the need to fake the "hand" while everything else is very machined and slick. I urge you to consider alternatives, and think about your font conceptually as well as formally.

I am into the shape, and the add-like sexy darkness--it is very you, considering what I know of your previous work.

Hey Rezvan,

I also like the second cover better. That font is definitely sexy and unable to read, perhaps to your liking. I don't dig the faux font much either for your statement though. Try to find something a bit more legible because while we may not know what everything says in your book, depending on your font choice, I think it is important to know what your statement says. That statement itself seems fine to me. Good luck, shug.

I'm not too good at reading eh? You have a beautiful project! I don't think I made that clear enough. You're book is going to be wonderful!

Hi Rezvan,

I like both the second cover and the second statement. I would be interested in seeing a different font for the statement as well. This is going to be a hauntingly beautiful book.

Have a wonderful weekend,
